About Hargrove Electric Company

Hargrove Electric Co. was founded on February 1, 1964, by Raymond L. Hargrove and continues today with his son Steve at the helm. The company operates on a philosophy of personal service, integrity, and value. The values and principles established by Ray early on are still the expected norm. Hargrove Electric has never failed to complete a contract for any reason whatsoever. Never! We pride ourselves on this and the fact that we have never been to court for any business reason. We subscribe to the belief that "if something is wrong, make it right!” This philosophy has served us well, and continues to be the basis by which we conduct day-to-day business.

We are proud of our team, as we are of our clientele. Many of our customers have been with us for over 35 years. In fact, our customers include five of the top ten largest DFW-based publicly held companies, including #1 Exxon-Mobil and #2 AT&T.

We build relationships and maintain them. We make ourselves available when clients are in need and treat them fairly. At Hargrove Electric, we combine old-fashioned work values with state-of-the-art technology and affordable excellence for the benefit of our customers.

Our company has been named a top 125 Texas Specialty Contractor by ENR [Engineering News Record] for 16 years, and a top contractor in the nation for 14, thus putting HEC in the top 1% of all sub-contractors in the country.
Likewise, many of our people have been here for over 30 years. We currently have employees whose fathers worked here.  We are committed to our employees and their families, which is reflected by the number of our second-generation workers.

We like to think of ourselves as kind of an extended family.

About our Team

Safety is a priority at Hargrove Electric. All electricians have completed all of the appropriate OSHA courses for their particular applications and job descriptions. Furthermore, Hargrove Electric maintains its own rigid safety training and holds weekly safety meetings. HEC employs an individual to oversee the safety program, as well as retaining an outside individual to work with and improve the program.

Our company requires all of our personnel to undergo continuous training and keep all licenses and certifications current to ensure that our specialists are experts in all advances in their fields. We have six certified fiber optic technicians at HEC and one of the highest ratios of Master Electricians in North Texas. We are well-versed and have trained thermographers on staff complete with our own thermography (infrared scanning) equipment . All of these factors combine to create a workforce that is at the forefront of all facets of professional electrical services.

The result is one of the lowest workers compensation modifiers in our industry in North Texas. In fact, Hargrove Electric was presented the Exxon-Mobil Achievement Award for performing 500,000 man-hours of electrical services on their Dallas campuses without a lost time accident.

We run safe projects – good for us, good for our customers.

Background Checks

Prior to any employee being hired by Hargrove Electric, he or she will undergo a criminal background check, a driving record check, and a comprehensive drug-screening. Prospective employees must also sign and agree to the Hargrove Electric Employment Rules that cover everything from appearance to safety. We have also adopted a “Code of Excellence” program, which each and every employee not only agrees to, but also signs off on. Our folks know the importance of excellence not only on the job, but also in their behavior. Violators can and will be punished and/or terminated.
